As it was another rainy day here in london my hubby wanted some typical aloo tama bodi to have for dinner.and just by the name of this dish my mouth was watering and i just wanted to make it right away but before that obviously i need to check if all the ingredients i need was in the home or not.Luckily i had all the ingredients i needed and i was ready to make it and serve it hot to my hubby...
INGREDIENTS;
- ONION
- GINGER/GARLIC
- TOMATOES
- TURMERIC POWDER
- CHILLI POWDER(TO TASTE)
- CORRIANDER POWDER
- SALT(TO TASTE)
- TOMATO PUREE
- POTATOES
- BLACK EYED BEANS
- BAMBOO SHOOTS(TAMA)
- CILANTRO(HARIYO DHANIYA)
- Heat the pressure cooker in high heat and pour 2tbsp oil in the cooker.once the oil is hot put 1 medium chopped onion and saute it till the onion gets tender.
- Add tama in the cooker and mix it together and stir it for 5-7 mins.put 1tbsp turmeric powder and salt to taste and stir it..
- Mix black eyed beans with the onion and tama mixture and put the rest of the spices listed above.mix properly and leave it for 10 mins.Mix it in between as it might get burnt on the bottom of the cooker.
- Put the fresh tomatoes and 2-3 cups of water and close the lid of the cooker and let it whistle for 5-6 times.
- After hearing 5-6 whistles let the pressure release it by itself. Now open and check if the black eyed beans is cooked or not.If its not cooked u can again close the lid and let it whistle for 2 more time but this time u can also add the chopped potatoes..
- Lastly, before u serve check if all the seasonings is good enough and garnish with fresh cilantro.it can be served with plain boil rice or chapatis..enjoy!!!!!!
